What is the right mix between intuition and analysis?
Making a decision depends on many issues (decision drivers) such as the nature of the decision, the personality of the decision maker, experience of the people involved, the information available…
How much intuition is involved in your business decisions? Involving your feelings in the decision making process makes some people uncomfortable. You may hear something like "What is the information available" or "Do we know anything about...?" If there is some business data available to the decision makers the decision making process will be a huge brainstorming session with different perspectives and conclusions. Even the "scientific business" approach to analysis will draw different conclusions by different people because everyone's intuition is involved in analyzing every piece of data available.
At the end of the day the decision will be make based on intuition, analysis and the power of every decision maker involved in the process. If you are trying to develop perfect solution / make the best decision you will probably make no decision.
